Aamir Khan’s Dangal Performs well at Hong Kong box office

Dangal
After getting a smashing collection at China, the Bollywood superstar Aamir Khans sports drama called Dangal is making headlines for scoring high at Hong Kong Box Office. With massive collections both in the home country India and China, Dangal has received a very good response in the vertical city called Hong Kong. As per reports, the Box office collection for Dangal in Hollywood has netted to around $702,000 in its opening weekend. The Nitesh Tiwari directorial venture was released on August 24 in Hong Kong.

Talking about the collection, the film has managed to collect $85,000 on its opening day and has witnessed a good hike over the first weekend by collecting $109,000 on Friday, while on $215,000 and finally the amount of $215,000 on Sunday, which made the cumulative total to $702,000 (including paid previews). In this way Dangal which happens to be an extremely special film for the Indians in terms of story and performance has simply given the best collection to win hearts across borders.

The makers are finding it overwhelming that even today after nine months of its production and release in the home country, the sports drama film seems to dominate at the box office wherever it goes, which first included China and now it is Hong Kong. This reinstates our belief that a film with a good story, if made in a right way can connect everywhere claimed Amrita Pandey who happens to be the Vice President of Studios, Disney India, said in a statement.

The film is all about the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who happened to be an amateur wrestler but trains his two daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become world-class wrestlers. The film features Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Zaira Wasim. So far the film has collected more than 2000 crore from India and world wide collection.
