We know Akshay Kumar to be a big star in B Town and his life for India has been known for various reasons. His performances has remained first-rate and his movies are all spread all over the genre with most of them going as a great entertainer. However, we all know that he is a Canadian Citizen and has been living in India without being an Indian Citizen. This has often become an issue before the media particularly when he was asked about voting in LS Elections this year in May.
Finally, he has to speak about his Indian Passport when he was asked at the 17th Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in Delhi. He was there at the event with his Good Newwz co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan. Here he was asked about his Canadian citizenship row. Talking about it he said that he was dejected with the fact that all his 14 films have gone flop and he was unable to decide what to do the next. He was helped by a friend based in Canada who asked him to apply for Canada Passport so that the two can work together and shape Akki’s career.
While he got the Canada Passport, his 15th film turned a big hit and soon it was no looking back for the actor as he kept on getting one successful film to the other. He said that he never had the thought of changing his passport to Indian one that made him stranded. He then said he is very much an Indian and has now applied for Indian Passport, which he is likely to get soon. He further informed that his wife never changed her passport and his son is also an India.
