Sushant Singh Rajput Case: NCB charge Rhea Chakraborty for purchasing & financing drugs

Rhea Chakraborty was charged on Wednesday for purchasing drugs for her actor-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, months after she was released on bail in the narcotics case involving late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. According to reports, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) filed a charge sheet against her and 34 others.

ANI tweet read, “Draft charges submitted against Rhea Chakroborty in Special NDPS court of receiving deliveries of ganja from Samuel Miranda, Showik Charoborty & Dipesh Sawant & others and handing over those deliveries to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput while making payments for them in yr 2020.”

In addition to Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty has been charged. According to the NCB, Rhea has been also charged with purchasing and financing the purchase of a small amount of marijuana, according to NDTV. as per the NCB, in the year 2020, Rhea obtained narcotics for Sushant Singh Rajput, delivered them to him, and even paid for the delivery on multiple occasions. Not only Rhea but also the late actor’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani, has been named as a suspect.

The NCB has now submitted the draft charges to a special NDPS court. The anti-drug agency has proposed charging the 35 defendants under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). The draft charges maintained that “Rhea Chakroborty received many deliveries of ganja from accused Samuel Miranda, Showik, Dipesh Sawant and others and handed over those deliveries to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput”. If Rhea Chakraborty is found guilty, she could face up to ten years in prison.
