TMKOC Star Raj Anadkat Returns to Television After a Long Break: ‘I Am Super Excited

Raj Anadkat, widely recognized for his role as Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is gearing up for a television comeback after a two-year break. The actor recently revealed in one of his YouTube vlogs that he has secured a role in a new show, where he will be sharing the screen with Sana Amin Sheikh, leaving his fans eager with anticipation. Expressing his excitement for the upcoming Gujarati show, Raj shared, “I am super duper excited for this new journey. I will be playing the lead character. I know all of you have been waiting to see me back on TV. I have been feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.

Finally, I am signing the papers for the show. I have even done a mock shoot and visited the sets. I will soon share a glimpse of all this on my vlog,” Raj said as quoted by E-Times. While he refrained from revealing specific details about the show or his character, Raj appealed for continued support and affection from his audience, reminiscent of his time as Tapu in TMKOC. “Finally, my new show! I feel blessed. I can’t wait to share everything with all of you. Please continue to love me and my character. I am keeping the details of the show under wraps, but I am excited to share all the details soon,” he added. Raj Anadkat played Dilip Joshi’s son Tapu in TMKOC for five years before his departure in December 2022.

In a recent YouTube video, Raj reflected on his decision to leave the long-running show, citing his desire to explore diverse roles and grow as an actor. “I spent five years on this show, doing over 1,000 episodes. It was a beautiful journey for me. But as an actor, I wanted to expand and explore different characters. I made this decision, and I am grateful to God for this opportunity. Thank you all for accepting me as Tapu. Sometimes in life, you have to make such decisions. It’s a part and parcel of life,” he expressed, acknowledging the enriching experience of working on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
