Review
Devang Shashin Bhavsar has written and directed the movie “Blackout.” The film kicks off with the lively song ‘Chor’ playing in the background as the robbers execute their mission. Lenny’s encounter with the robbers leads to a series of unfortunate events, despite his initial hopes of a change in fortune. In terms of performances, Vikrant Massey’s portrayal of a notorious crime reporter showcases a new facet of his acting prowess. His character’s journey from bad luck to worse is brilliantly depicted. Sunil Grover’s portrayal of Bewdya, a character who speaks in shayaris, adds a comedic touch.
Karan Sudhakar Sonawane and Saurabh Dilip Ghadge, known for their entertaining reels on Instagram, play street thugs ‘Thik Thak’ in the film, bringing their real-life camaraderie to the screen. The direction by Devang Shashin Bhavsar brings the characters and humor to life, while the dialogues by Abbas Dalal and Hussain Dalal add depth and amusement to the story. Vishal Mishra’s music, particularly the song ‘Chor,’ adds vibrancy to the film, and the background score enhances the overall experience. The incorporation of the iconic ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ in a crucial scene adds an element of humor to the narrative.
Thus in the end, Blackout is an entertaining and hilarious rollercoaster ride. While the first half focuses on introducing the characters, the film acknowledges this with witty dialogue. Although the emotional drama and a fight sequence briefly slow down the narrative, the performances and jokes keep the adventure enjoyable. With a cliffhanger ending, Vikrant Massey’s movie leaves us hoping for more excitement to come.
