Brothers Movie Review

Brothers box office prediction

Loads of Action, Drama & Emotion to Catch up when Two Brothers in Blood Stand Against Each Other

This Friday, you have two movies releasing, which includes the most awaited film of Akshay Kumar and Siddarth Malhotra called Brothers. It is an action drama film, which is a remake of a Hollywood film called Warriors released in the year 2011. The film is directed by Karan Malhotra based on the MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and produced by the Karan Johar’s company called Dharma Productions along with other groups like ENdemol India and Linosgate Films. The movie also has Jacqueline Fernandez, Shefali Shah and Jackie Shroff in supporting roles apart from Akshay and Siddarth in the lead roles. Also, you can find Kareena Kapoor Khan in special appearance with the song Mera Naam Mary Now, let’s dig in deep to find the crux of the film.

Brothers Review Story/Plot

As said, the film is a remake of the Hollywood action flick – Warriors, hence the story is similar with few minor changes in it. The film story is simple and revolves around the two brothers played by Akshay Kumar (David Fernandes), while Sidharth Malhotra (Monty Fernandes) is his younger brother and Jacqueline Fernandez (Jenny Fernandes) plays Akki’s wife. David is a schoolteacher who leaves his job behind to take up a fight to secure his family, while Monty is a one viral video hero, who has just one passion to take care – to be a fighter in the ring.

The two are though real brothers but are torn apart into two halves due to their intense hatred with one man with his wife (Akki) and the younger one with his father whom David hates like anything. They enter in the ring to fight against each other to address their dire needs and compulsion they have for their families. Amidst all this, you can also find some elements of romance and love, which can be called as the difference in it. Well, what happens at the end is worth catching up in the theatres.

Star Performances

Let’s start with Akshay Kumar. As this film is all about action and drama, Akshay Kumar suits the best to do justice with the character. Unlike his previously released movies like Gabbar Is Back and Baby, Akshay Kumar in the character of David a fighter is incredible. In fact, this film will be his hat-trick in 2015 wherein he with his fantastic character of action and drama genre has simply excelled over the silver screen. He remains at the centre of the story doing justice to the character he has for the film. In fact, the genres like action and drama are his baby, which has the expertise to portray over the silver screen with utter perfection and professionalism.

Next comes the heartthrob of B Town- SIdharth Malhotra who has attempted again in an action film after Ek Villain. Though he remained a bit lagging behind while comparing it with Akshay Kumar, yet his persona and violent avatar is simply mind blowing. Thanks to his hard work and sheer commitment to shape his body the right way, which makes him at the end of the day a true blue fighter. In fact, to a great extent, Sid has done justice to his character, after all his training session for around five months has worked out for him. In fact, he did not sign a single movie with this, so that he remained focused for this character.

Let us not forget Jacqueline Fernandez, who plays the character of Akshay Kumar in it with a daughter. For the first time, she is a mother in any film, thanks to Salman Khan who convinced her to take up this role. The two simply look cool over the silver screen, thanks to their on and off screen camaraderie that remained the talk of the town adding values to the film at large. She is there to add the glam factor with her beauty and romance she has displayed in the film with her man. Rest goes to Kareena Kapoor Khan for her song “Mera Naam Mary”. Unlike her previous movies, she remained good decent over the silver screen. The others like Shefali Shah and Jackie Shroff too remained good in the film.

Music and other Technical aspects

Music is one of the striking elements of Brothers. Ajay-Atul has done a good job in composing lucrative score, be it the item song of Kareena Kapoor Khan or the other soulful romantic songs featuring the lead actor and actress in Sapna Jahan, all remained soothing to ears and eyes as well. All in all, the film had a melodious music, which adds up the entertainment value. The only problem comes in the script, which remained slow in the first half showing various elements that make things difficult to digest or understand. The other elements like screenplay, editing, locations and other stuff remained okay, which all in all helped the film to gain value for the audience.

Brothers Review Last Word

If you go by the words of Siddharth Malhotra, this film is a blend of MMA & K3G (Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham). Yes, he is right to a great extent, the film is all about action (loads of martial art and fight in the right) and the family get together at the end, which remained divided for some reason.  With such an amalgamation of love, action, emotion and drama, the film becomes a good stuff to catch up at the theatres. After all, it could be a better choice as compared to the previous year Independence film like sequel of Singhum, which has mindless plot and weird story. Hopefully, the audience will have a good film to catch this Independence day and have good time with family.
