Daawat-e-Ishq Vs. Khoobsurat Classes together, who will win?

Daawat-e-Ishq Vs Khoobsurat

This Friday, you have two big films to clash with each other. Daawat-e-Ishq directed by Habib Faisal, while the other one is Khoobsurat directed by Shashanka Ghosh. Though both the films have incredible amount of romance elements yet they differ to each other in many ways. When the former comes with the food feisty rom com spice or way, you have the latter wherein the style icon Sonam Kapoor leaving no stone unturned to woo the royal prince – Fawad Khan. The promos of both the movies have garnered a good response, hence analysing and comparing the two would be slightly difficult job to do. Yet, there are a number of interesting facts, which have been surfaced about the two movies in the media; these would help us to check which one would entertain the audience the best way. Let’s do that:

Daawat-e-Ishq

The director of the movie is Habib Faisal, while the star cast include Parineeti Chopra, Aditya Roy Kapur, Karan Wahi and Anupam Kher. The movie was initially planned to hit the theatres in the first Friday of September, however, the grand release compelled the filmmakers to postpone it to 19th September. Perhaps this decision was taken in the perspective to the tough fight with Mary Kom, as they felt that fighting Sonam (Khoobsurat)would be simpler as compared to PC.

Synopsis

The movie has a young and bubbly Hyderabadi girl called Gulrez played by Parineeti Chopra, while on the other side, you have the lover boy Tariq played by Aditya Roy Kapur. The movie is basically a love story from the popular production house Yash Raj Films. It encompasses a Kitchen of love, wherein different spices are added to make this great emotion spicy and interesting along with different flavours like sweet, bitter and salty. You have a show sales girl, who gets disillusioned with the love as she combats with a number of dowry seeking grooms, while on the other end you have a cook who can simply impress anyone with the incredible biryani flavour and its incredible Kebab aroma. He then encounters the spicy cultures and creeds of Hyderabad, which is just contrary to the flavours of Lucknow. In her mission to hunt her Mr. Right, she then come across to a guy of Hyderi Kebab and soon end up setting her tune with the lover boy from Hyderabad. The two simply end up rewriting the traditional love recipe in the most romantic fashion. You would find the romance and love unlike any other YRF movies, but this time it comes with the element of food and cuisines of course.

Why should you catch this movie?

After Ishaqzaade, it’s the second collaboration of Parineeti and Habib Faisal (the director) of Daawat-e-Ishq. So, as we all saw how their first venture over the Box Office did so well, we can expect similar trend this time as well with bigger banners like YRF along with the Aashiqui 2 actor Aditya Roy Kapur. This man has given two hits the Aashiqui 2 and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and similar trend can be expected yet again with Dawaat-e-Ishq. You can therefore expect the movie entering the 100 crore club soon considering the strong and interesting features in the said movie. Also, the popular TV actor Karan Wahi would be making its debut entry in Bollywood movies, which can make it a must watch for everyone.

Khoobsurat

Next comes the Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan starrer – Khoobsurat. It is loosely based on the 1980’s Rekha starrer having the same title but spelt very much different. The movie is directed by Shashanka Ghosh, while the main leads include Sonam Kapoor, Fawad Khan, Kirron Kher, Prosnenjit Chatterjee, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aditi Rao Hydari and Aamir Raza Hussain. There are probabilities to see the movie compared to Princess Diaries wherein Sonam is playing the character of a royal misfit. Interestingly, the movie has garnered a good response for Fawad Khan as compared to the style icon – Sonam Kapoor despite the fact that it’s his first Bollywood movie.

Synopsis

As discussed above, the movie is a loosely based on the 1980 film called Khubsoorat starring Dina Pathak, Ashok Kumar, Rekha and Rakesh Roshan. However, the difference comes in the form of the old and modern portrayal of the script. Here you have a modern day girl entering into the royal family, who happens to be a complete misfit out there. However, the prince- Fawad Khan who is all set to be the next king of his kingdom is seen getting attracted towards this eddy and eerie girl called Sonam Kapur. It would be interesting to watch how such love of two different characters would be recognised or rejected by the family of royals. Whether it would be nipped right over the bud, you just have to wait for few days to watch it in Khoobsurat releasing this Friday.

Why should you catch this movie?

Sonam has failed to get a good start with Bewakoofiyaan this year, however, her both the movies released last year – Bhaag Milka Bhaag and Raanjhanaa have really proved her worthiness over the box office. Also, the movie will also give the debut to the known heart throb from Pakistan called Fawad Khan in B Town movies. The film will also witness Ratna Pathak playing the same character, which her mother Dina Pathak has played long back in the 1980’s Khubsoorat.  The remake would be seen with similar sort of storyline, however, the difference lies between the contemporary sets and locations found in the film carried out in the most fabulous fashion. The trailer may not give the entire glimpse of the movie, hence you need to wait and watch how the movie really goes ahead and sets its benchmark over the Box Office. All in all, you can still call the movie as a No Miss.

Wrapping up

It is really difficult to see, which movie is going to beat the other over the Box Office. Both have the elements of romance and love that come along with the perfect blend of royal touch in it. At the end of the day, it would the audience take, so, at the moment, it’s all about wait and watch till the two movies finally hit the theatres.
