Dear Zindagi gives a new perspective of life to lead with splendid performances

This Friday we have a one major release with a couple of other two mid budget films. The most awaited movie is Dear Zindagi starring Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Kunal Kapoor, Angad Bedi and Aditya Roy Kapoor in the lead roles. The film is directed by the English Vinglish fame director Gauri Shinde and is produced by her and others under the banner of Red Chillies, Dharma Productions and Hope Productions. The film is releasing worldwide, which has started its principal shooting from May 2016 and within few months have completed the same. The story and screenplay is jotted by Gauri Shinde alone who happens to be the talented one. Well, time to have a look at the insight of the film and get the crux of the same as under:

Plot

The story of the film revolves around the lively and young girl called Kaira played by Alia Bhatt who is a budding cinematographer, who is in search for a perfect life ends up falling love not just once or twice but thrice. Every time when she is seen falling in love, she gets a different perspective in life. Amidst his journey toward her life and aspiring to be a photographer, she meets Jag played by Shah Rukh Khan who is an unconventional thinker. She calls her jug rather jag who later helps her to change her perpective toward her life.  So, what happens at the end is really interesting to explore in the film, which it finally hits the theatres.

Review

Gauri Shinde is known to make films on pertinent issues so unlike English Vinglish, DZ is no exception. She is smart enough to rope in one of the best talents in B Town with high star value. This time she chose how young and budding people treat their lives and was successful in portraying things the right stealing the affirmative and beauty elements amidst the filth in the movie to interweaving things in a perfect way to embark with a subtle movie is worthy to catch with. The lessons in life by Jag (SRK) are very much real and authentic, which somehow has the lessons for the real audience as well. And when these lessons come in the form of the tangible ways and that too with competitive actors like SRK, the impact is inevitably higher and better. The film is crafted so nicely that you would remain glued to your seat provided you have that kind of taste and flair to digest the values propagated the best by the actor.

Star performances

SRK chose to go very simple in this film with less of the make of to add the realism in his character, he ended up doing simply superb over the silver screen in Dear Zindagi. In fact, if you call this performance to be one of the best in SRK career, it may not be a wrong claim to air in B Town. Shah Rukh Khan may not be a perfectionist but he is certainly diligent and toils hard to give the best over the silver screen and Dear Zindagi is once again a classic example of the same. Talking of Alia, she is so young and merely a four year lass in B Town but the way she has performed in this film is really worth watching. She has jelled so well with SRK that it is hard to see being overwhelmed or overshadowed by Khan on her personality and character. Though SRK has limited presence yet his presence in the film was phenomenal. Well, the film has actors like Kunal Kapoor, and Aditya Roy Kapur as well, who too remained par though were overshadowed by SRK and Alia Bhatt in the film.

Direction, music, screenplay and other elements

Gauri Shinde is a talented filmmaker, who has come a long way in making really good movies. She has successful in putting across a worthy story with a decent star cast of the film and allowed to portray the things right. The B Town celebs have got the chance to see the ice of life movie and they too have appreciated her efforts of filmmaking. The music may not be impressive to all as it has a couple of reprised version of tracks in it thus making somehow repressive and average over the film. The screenplay, editing and other technical elements remained par that helped together the makers to give a decent film all together.

Dear Zindagi The Last Word

The film Dear Zindagi is simple and straight forward, no qualms to deal with except to present life with some incredible colors that brings you close to realism and authenticity. Gauri’s efforts are commendable and make the film worth watch. If you are looking for a decent film this Friday you can think of catching it up or otherwise if you happens to be SRK’s fan then it is a must watch movie.

Rating – 4.0
