here’s what the Global TV Head of Amazon Studios said about The Lord of Rings: The Rings of Power s2

Vernon Sanders, Head of Global Television at Amazon Studios said, “Since its debut, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has brought together audiences to experience the enchantment and wonder of J.R.R. Tolkien’s beautiful Middle-earth. Season One is currently the #1 original series on Prime Video in every country and has been seen by over 100 million people globally, proving the universality of strong narrative. We invite these fantastic performers to our ‘fellowship,’ and we are keen to produce more incredible Second Age stories in season two.”

The series is mainly based on The Lord of the Rings’ appendices, notably the account of Middle Earth’s Second Age. It features younger versions of some of the original trilogy’s important characters.

This Amazon Original Series depicts the creation of the original rings of power during the Second Age, which allowed the Dark Lord Sauron to spread evil across Middle Earth thousands of years before the events of Tolkien’s famed book series. JD Payne and Patrick McKay have made the series together. Payne is also the producer of the show.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 1 is currently streaming on Prime video for all its subscribers.
