Ishq Vishk Rebound: Shortest Bollywood Film in Recent Times; CBFC Blurs Middle Finger Scenes in Rohit Saraf Starrer

The highly-anticipated youthful entertainer, Ishq Vishk Rebound, is preparing for its release this week after successfully completing the censor process well in advance. On June 10, the film received the censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The rom-com has been granted a U/A certificate with two modifications. Firstly, the Examining Committee of the CBFC requested the makers to blur any visuals involving the middle finger. Secondly, a disclaimer regarding alcohol consumption will be displayed at the bottom of the screen during scenes related to liquor.
What sets Ishq Vishk Rebound apart is its intriguing runtime. The censor certificate states that the film is 106 minutes long, equivalent to 1 hour and 46 minutes. This makes it one of the shortest significant Hindi films in recent memory. While there have been a few films in recent times with a duration of 110 minutes or less, such as Raksha Bandhan (2022; 110 minutes), Dhokha – Round D Corner (2022; 108 minutes), and Kuttey (2023; 108 minutes), Ishq Vishk Rebound surpasses them in brevity with its 106-minute runtime. Zwigato (2023) was even shorter, clocking in at 105 minutes, but it had a limited release. As per records, the last major release with a runtime shorter than Ishq Vishk Rebound was the Sunny Singh-starrer Jai Mummy Di (2020), which ran for 103 minutes and was released in approximately 750-800 screens.
A multiplex official expressed their delight, stating, “It’s common for Hollywood films to have a runtime of 1 hour 40 or 50 minutes. But we were pleasantly surprised to learn about the runtime of Ishq Vishk Rebound. It’s rare for a Hindi film to be this short. Now, we can accommodate 6 or even 7 shows of Ishq Vishk Rebound in a single screen per day, if required.”Ishq Vishk Rebound features talented actors Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan, and Naila Grrewal in lead roles. Backed by Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films and directed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari, the film is set to hit the screens on June 21, promising audiences a delightful and compact cinematic experience.
