Jai Ho Democracy – First Weekend Box Office- Movie gets a Dull start
The Bollywood satires and comedies have always got a good response. However, Jai Ho Democracy, which also falls under the same category failed to get the required response as expected. The movie starring Om Puri, Annu Kapoor, Satish Kaushik, Seema Biswas and Adil Hussain hitting the past Friday failed to garner a good response as its filmmaker – Bikramjeet Bhullar from Indian Production House was expecting. The film was written and directed by Bhullar and Ranjit Kapoor; however, it failed to get good number of screens, which did the rest of the damage.
Political satires made with some of the veterans of Bollywood failed to garner good response with the comedy elements in it. The movie despite having some of the best performances from the veterans was seen getting flopped over the box office. As per reports, Jai Ho Democracy– first weekend box office collection tolled to around 70 lakhs, which is really a low figure. The experts are predicting some really good collections for the movie for the movie in the first weekend. One of the biggest hurdle came in the way of the much awaited Hollywood flick Avenger 2.
