Actor Jim Sarbh took to social media on Saturday to clarify that his previous comments about flamboyant method acting techniques were not directed at his Padmaavat co-star, Ranveer Singh. He also clarified that his comments were not an attack on the process of method acting itself, as he loves both the process and actors in general. Sarbh explained that the video was actually poking fun at actors who exaggerate their process and highlighted that many people talk about their work more than they actually do it. He expressed his frustration with speculative articles and videos and admitted that he had wrongly assumed people would know better than to interpret his comments as directed towards Ranveer Singh.
The controversy surrounding Sarbh’s comments began when actor Prashant Narayanan appeared to mock Singh’s method acting approach for his role as the villain Khilji in Padmaavat. Singh had spoken about immersing himself in the character and isolating himself, which led to concerns about his mental state. Both Sarbh and Narayanan expressed skepticism towards such an intense process.Sarbh’s clarification aims to clear any misunderstandings caused by his remarks, emphasizing that he has never mentioned anyone, including Ranveer Singh, in a critical manner.
