The film – Judgemental Hai Kya starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer ended on a decent note in its first-weekend box office collection. Despite all the hype, the film could only gain around 5.40 Crores on its first day. However, there seemed to be some amount of boost on the second day with the collection reaching to 8.02 Crores at the box office. The Sunday was a treat for the makers as it went on to score around 10.5 Crores giving a decent figure at the box office at the end of the first weekend.
As per reports, the 1st-weekend box office collection reached to 23.92 Crores. It seems that the film garnered a good word of mouth buzz in the media that worked for the film in its favor. The film was released in 2000 Screens and it did well both at the single screens and multiplexes. However, the film failed to garner a huge collection considering the fact that it is a dark comedy and thus had only attracted a section of the audience who has the said taste.
In a sense, it is a niche film, which would have a similar sort of performance at the box office as seen with it. Also, there was one more movie released the same day called Arjun Patiala and it did give the film some amount of confidence hampering the footfall to some extent. Needless to say that the films like The Lion and Hrithik Roshan Starrer film Super 30 are still running in the screens and are doing well at the box office giving again a tough competition to the dark comedy.
