Story
The film is about an Indian girl (Kashmiri) called Sehmat (played by Alia Bhatt), who comes from a family having links with intelligence bureau of India. The Indo-Pak relations seemed to be on the sourly side and a war seems to be on the cards. Her father who who has good terms with Pak people gets married his daughter to Pak based man Brigadier Syed’s ( played by Shishir Sharma)’s son called Iqbal Syed (played by Vicky Kaushal). The young girl then becomes an Indian spy for the IB just to give an upper hand to her country. So, what really goes is interesting to catch.
Review
The director has taken all care to build the character of the girl Razi with care and great emotions and she has succeeded in making a powerful movie yet with silent features. The first half may be slow and takes time to create the good background but soon with the advent of second half, the film takes a pacy turn giving a gripping movie with a good climax for the audience. The film is made at the backdrop of 1971 and is a story of a person who changed the course of history.
Now, talking about the performances, Alia Bhatt has excelled the job of playing Sehmat with maturity and responsibility keeping alive the innocence; hence she has remained the perfect choice for the character. Unlike Highway & Udta Punjab, she has once again able to establish her prowess taking herself to the different level. On the other side, the character of Vicky Kaushal happens to be subtle and silent. He has impressed playing the army officer from the other side of the camp. Rajit Kapur playing Sehman’s father though has less screen space but is an appropriate fit for the script. Shishir Sharma playing the character of Vicky Kaushal’s father is simply up to the mark and is seen filling every blank space while portraying the side of Pakistan. Jaideep Ahlawat while playing Khalid Mir is seen staying honest to his character and is seen delivering a fine performance. Lastly, Amruta Khanvilkar while playing Munira simply looks eternally beautiful and is seen doing well. The other elements like direction, photography, screenplay and technical elements remain par.

Razi The Last Word
With all said and done, Raazi is tribute to people like Sehman who remains our unsung heroes of India. The film has a brave story of a young girl who goes beyond her emotional bonding with her hubby to prove his love for the nation. And Alia Bhatt has simply smashed all the barricades for being a competent actress.
