Rang Rasiya is an upcoming Bollywood movie that is slated to be released this 23rd October, 2014. It will be released by PEN India’s Jayantilal Gada. Ketan Mehta is its director and the movie is considered to be a period based drama that is based on Raja Ravi Varma’s life. This movie is said to clash with ‘Happy New Year’ of Shahrukh Khan. The director claimed that he had waited for six long years for this film to see daylight and can be the perfect birthday treat for Ketan.
Randeep Hooda is overall set to enthrall the audiences playing the role of a painter of the 19th century as Raja Ravi Varma. The movie depicts the true love story of the Indian painter along with Sugandha Bai, his muse that is played by Nandana Sen. This movie had witnessed plenty of hurdles due to the presence of bold scenes by the leading actors Nandana and Randeep. But, now it is ready to be released and is much anticipated by Hooda’s fans.
Aanand Mahendroo and Deepa Sahi are its producers. Music for this film has been composed by Sandesh Shandilya and the screenplay by Ketan Mehta and Sanjiv Dutta. It also casts newcomer Triptha Parashar in lead role. This movie is considered to be an adaptation of Ranji Desai’s biographical novel, the Marathi writer. The bilingual is in Hindi and English and titled ‘Rang Rasiya’ and ‘Colour of Passion’ respectively. Mehta presumed Varma to be a wonderful and fascinating artist of his era and his paintings, persona and character fascinated him right from the days, when he was at the Film & TV Institute of India. He formulated the movie’s story, after going through Desai’s novel. This is a much anticipated movie and sure to help Hooda to get the limelight, especially after the success of ‘Kick’ as a lead hero.
