Swastika Mukherjee, as her name suggest is a Bengali and was born in 1980 on 13^th December. She is more known as a Bengali actress than any other tag. She comes from an actor family with her father Santu Mukherjee too was a seasoned actor of Bengali Films. She hails from Kolkata where she was born and brought up. She did her schooling from Carmel School, Calcutta and St. Teresa and Gokhale Memorial School. At the age of 18, she married with a known singer called Pramit Sen, who happens to be the son of Rabindra Sangeet Singer called Sagar Sen. However, her married life was a bitter experience and she separated after two year alleging her husband to be cruel and a man who physically abused her a lot. She also filed cruelly case against her husband but it was later dismissed.

In the year 2000, she filed a divorce but later withdrew when she turned a successful actor. Currently she lives with her daughter Anwesha who was born the very same year. Her family drama continued for few years till she finally accepted her fault before the media. According to reports, she confessed before the media that she had been lying just to get the public attention and took back all the cases and charges she had put before her husband and her in laws. Amidst all her family drama, she also enrolled for her dance training at the popular Ananda Shankar Centre for Culture wherein she got the dancing skills from the seasoned dance called Tanushree Shankar. This was the same time when she had relationship with Jeet the popular Bengali actor.

Later, Swastika Mukherjee called off her relationship with Jeet saying that he is not dating some other girl called Koel Mullick. Later, she was seen getting into a relationship with another actor called Parambrata Chatterjee while working with him on the sets of Brake Fail. Since she was married, Swastika’s husband was seen filing a charge against the new man Chatterjee for enticement of a married woman and criminal adultery. The couple then separated finally in 2010 as Chatterjee moved out to the United Kingdom. Now, talking about her career, it was during her college days at Jadavpur University when she was spotted by the popular director of TV serial Devdasi who asked her to do his daily soap. This followed a couple of other TV serials including Protibimbo and Akasher.

She was seen making her debut in the movie called Hemanter Pakhi, which was directed by the lady called Urmi Chakraborty. In this movie, she had played a very small role, while her first lead role came in the form of a movie called Mastan, which was directed by Ravi Kinagi. During this movie, she met her co-star called Dev and soon indulged into relationship with him, however, again she broke up with the actor. Her other Bollywood movies include Bye Bye Bangkok, while her first Bollywood movie is Mumbai Cutting. And her upcoming movie includes Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, which she is doing in opposite to Sushant Singh Rajput.
