The psychological thriller has received a good round of applauds at Cannes Film Festival, thanks to the out of box script of Anurag Kashyap. Considering an overwhelming amount of response and positive review about PK, it would be a difficult start for Ugly. However, the content of the movie is par and has the potential of getting a good response in few days. As per reports, the movie has as a slow start, thanks the dominance of Peekay over a good amount of screens all across the country, which seems to have hampered Ugly.
Nevertheless, we all know that the director has his own fan following and niche audience, which may of course be less than Aamir Khan. Hence sooner or later, you would find this niche audience turning up to catch Ugly in coming times. As of now, the occupancy report was witnessed very much low with maximum reaching to 20 percent in urban areas in the single screen theaters, while the others remained affected for obvious reasons. Similar was the story in the afternoon shows, while there was a bit of escalation seen in the evening shows. So, the Ugly first day box office collection went to around 1 crore.
