Though Varun Sharma may be a new face in Bollywood but he is certainly not an unknown name here. He is a popular actor, who came into fame with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani movie called Fukrey in 2013. He was named in this film as Choocha giving much of fame in B Town. He is born and brought in Jalandhar, Punjab. His schooling came from Lawrence School in Sanawar, while his junior college was completed from APJ School. Later, he headed to Chandigarh wherein he did his Bachelor’s program in Media, Film and Entertainment technology. During his college days, he got attached to theatre wherein he did a number of plays at state and national levels.
He used the platform of theaters in order to polish his acting skills and thus finally headed to Mumbai, wherein he continued working in plays till he was offered a film. After a brief audition, he was offered the role of Choocha in Fukrey, which was directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. The movie initially had a dull start, however, with the passage of time; it turned out to be a big hit giving him positive reviews about his performance both by audience and critics. This gave him a couple of other movies including             Rabba Main Kya Karoon               Gagan, Warning               and Yaaran Da Katchup. His upcoming movies include Dolly Ki Doli, which is in the post production stage with Sonam Kapoor, while the other Kis Kiko Pyar Karu in the filming stage.
As far as awards are concerned, he was nominated at various award functions for his character of Choocha for his first movie Fukrey, which eventually gave him two awards including Star Guild Award under Best Performance in a Comic Role and the Zee Cine Awards for the category of Best Actor in a Comic Role in 2013. Apart from acting in couple of movies, he was also seen in different commercial ads over TV, which include the brands Airtel, Margo Soap, Ebay, Virgin Mobile, etc. As far as his personal life is concerned, he is single and has no girlfriend. He is hesitant in mixing and befriending girls, which has made him lag behind in this domain.
