Wiki- Vir Das is an Indian actress who was born in Dehradun but has lived in Africa. He completed his studies in Indian Language School based in Lagos, Nigeria followed by doing his other studies based in Shimla and New Delhi. He later completed his degree in Economics and Theatre with a greater focus in performance from Knox College, Illinois. This followed his Stanislavsky Program from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which was completed in alliance with the Moscow Arts Theatre. Knox was the first place wherein Vir first realized that he can try his luck in standup comedian, wherein he was seen trying his comedy program called Brown Men Can’t Hump. He was later also seen trying his feat in teaching assistant for beginner’s course in Knox. Later, Vir was seen performing in around eight shows at the row.

In his visit to India, he was also seen performing in Indian Habitat Center in New Delhi, while when he returned to US, he was engaged in a number of such comedy shows, which included the one called- Whose Line is it Anyway? Also, he was seen performing a shop comedian over the Carnival Cruise Line, which was seen somewhere in between Mexico and Houston. Also, he was engaged with several comedy clubs back in Chicago. In 2003, he finally returned to India and then was seen performing in a number of comedy shows. As per Vir, he has performed in more than 100 comedy shows in almost all the important cities in India.

He then headed to TV wherein he hosted a couple of shows over Zoom Channel. He was seen appearing in the TV program called Route Ki Sabhin Linein Maast Hain wherein he played the character of a miserable uncle. This followed another comedy show called Ek Rahin Vir, which gave him a good exposure placing him high over the comedian map of India. He later was seen hosting a couple of shows including the one called Top Drive getaway for Star World. Later, he was more recognized for his comic edge and hence was seen in programs like Lo Kar Lo Baat (Sab TV), Cricket Firsts (sports comedy show in Zee Sports) and of course the vital cast of The Great Indian Comedy Show (Star One) along with the one called Now Not over the news channel – CNN IBN.

As far as his film career is concerned, he was first seen in the movie Namastey London, Mumbai Salsa, Love Aaj Kal, Mumbai Calling, Badmaash Company, Delhi Belly, Go Goa Gone, Sooner Se Ooper, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, and Revolver Rani. He was also seen being recognized for a couple of awards and rewards.
